The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku as its second vice president. On Saturday, April 26, 2025, the CAF Executive Committee met in Accra and made the announcement of this important appointment.
Prior to this, Mr. Okraku’s increasing prominence in African football governance was demonstrated when he was elected to the CAF Executive Committee in March 2025 without opposition.
In acknowledgment of his leadership within the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and his contributions to the growth of football in West Africa, he was promoted to the position of Second Vice President.
Mr. Okraku will have a significant influence on programs and policies that are meant to promote football throughout the African continent in his new post. Under CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, he becomes a member of a varied leadership team that consists of:
First Vice President: Fouzi Lekjaa (Morocco)
Third Vice President: Pierre-Alain Mounguengui (Gabon)
Fourth Vice President: Bestine Kazadi Ditabala (Democratic Republic of Congo)
Fifth Vice President: Feizal Sidat (Mozambique)
In addition to being a significant personal achievement for Mr. Okraku, this appointment represents improved representation for Ghana and West Africa in the administration of continental football.
