2023 Vakantiebeurs: Ghana Sells To The World

The Ghanaian tour operators displayed for the first time under their umbrella organization at the event

Ghana participated in the Netherlands’ Vakantiebeurs this year in Utretcht. Due to COVID-19 restrictions for two years, the event was canceled.

The event, which took place from January 12 to 15, drew thousands of people from all over the world working in various tourism and travel sectors; including, among many others, vacations, tourism organizations, rural tourism, cultural tourism, and MICE.

The Ghana Embassy in the Netherlands welcomed the members of the Ghana Tourism Authority who were in their stunning and vibrant attires.

The Ghanaian tour operators displayed for the first time under their umbrella organization; the sole West African representatives and the Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA).

Taste Of Ghana 3.0: An Exciting Blend Of Culture & Fun

Ghana’s presence at this year’s Vakantiebeurs was a lovely experience due to the presence of operators from various nations and the information exchanges that helped to gain new insights.

Mrs. Osei-Asamoah, President of the Tour Operators Union of Ghana (TOUGHA), stated in an interview at the event that the show has provided them with a useful business platform. She added,

“A lot of patrons who visited our stands expressed interest in destination Ghana, and it’s a recipe for good business for us as operators.”

The Tour Operators Union of Ghana will be attending a greater number of such travel and tourism trade shows this year as part of Ghana’s strategies to increase business opportunities and to promote Ghana as a tourist destination worldwide.

Mrs. Osei-Asamoah says that Ghana needs to make itself known in order to boost their visibility as a Union and market Ghana when doing business.
