The fourteen days in length Festival de Cannes which started on the 15th of May, and will end on May 25, shared its opening event to film participants again this year.
Both Opening ceremony and film will be broadcast live in hundreds of French cinemas, an initiative of the Festival de Cannes, together with France Télévisions, FNCF (Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français) and CNC (Centre National du Cinéma), with the friendly support of AFCAE (Association Française des Cinémas d’Art et d’Essai).
In 2023, in excess of 780 films in 700 towns across France participated in the festival.
