Sunday Oliseh Selected For A Role On Global Football Rules Panel

The International Football Association Board (IFAB), which is in charge of establishing and revising football regulations globally, has named Nigerian football icon Sunday Oliseh to its Football Advisory Panel.

The legendary soccer player has shared his excitement on his official X account by writing:

“Thrilled to announce my appointment to the International Football Association Board (IFAB)! IFAB is the global guardian of football’s laws, responsible for determining the laws of football, shaping the beautiful game for players and fans worldwide. Honoured to contribute to its mission!”

Oliseh will work with other prominent football figures in his new position, including as Arsène Wenger, who is a member of the Football and Technical Advisory Panels of IFAB. Former players, coaches, and technical specialists make up the advisory panel’s 21 members, who offer their perspectives on prospective legal changes and football-related matters.

Oliseh’s long post-playing career now includes coaching posts in Europe and with the Nigerian national team, as well as membership on the FIFA technical committee.
