Miracle Aboagye, a communication member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a startling claim regarding the recent violent clashes at the Ablekuma North Constituency elections. Speaking on Asempa FM’s ‘Ekosii Sen’ program on Friday, July 11, 2025, Aboagye recounted a dramatic escape, crediting voodoo for helping him “disappear” from the chaotic scene.
According to him, the situation during the elections turned extremely violent and dangerous.
“I could sense my life was in danger. I was surrounded, and I knew if I didn’t act fast, I could be harmed,” he told host Osei Bonsu (OB). “By God’s grace—and with some traditional spiritual protection—I vanished. They couldn’t see me again.”
He claimed this spiritual intervention was not the first time he had relied on such practices for protection in volatile political settings, though he insisted his beliefs did not contradict his Christian faith.
“It’s part of our heritage. Politics in Ghana can be deadly, and you must protect yourself.”
The revelation has since sparked a flurry of reactions online, with some expressing disbelief and others defending the use of traditional spiritual means in politics.

His statement comes in the wake of escalating concerns about electoral violence and political tension in Ablekuma North, where the NPP and NDC candidates are locked in a fierce contest. Authorities have yet to comment on Aboagye’s claims.
