The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is implementing a special operation called “Firewall” to protect its members in the Akwatia constituency, according to Haruna Mohammed, the party’s deputy general secretary.

Haruna Mohammed stated in an interview on Joy Prime TV on Monday, September 1, 2025, that the project is now required due to recent political unrest in the region. He asserts that the party’s leadership is committed to protecting its members and allowing them to function freely without fear.

Operation Firewall, he clarified, will entail concerted efforts to improve security surrounding NPP members, particularly during political rallies, campaigns, and other party-related events in Akwatia.

“We are not going to allow our members to be harassed or attacked. The NPP is putting together Operation Firewall around Akwatia to protect our people,” he stated

Haruna Mohammed further underlined that although the NPP is dedicated to a peaceful political atmosphere, it also has an obligation to protect its followers from dangers that can jeopardize their security and ability to take part in political activities.
