He said during the launch that, the Private Actors Welfare Scheme (PAWS) marks the beginning of a time when the people to whom actors have dedicated their lives will secure their futures rather than leaving them up to chance.

He added:

“This scheme is more than financial security. It is dignity, it is respect, and above all, it is hope”.

“No longer will we live in fear of sickness or old age. No longer will we depend on charity for our basic needs. Let us under the sacrifices of our colleagues ensure that their journey, our journey ends in and not despair,” he noted.

The goal of this project is to build a future in which all actors can live and retire with dignity.

Renowned actors attended the launch, which doubled as an actors dinner. They include— Mawuli Semevo, Akofa Edjeani, Vivian Opare, Pascaline Edwards, Ken Fiati, Oscar Provencal, George Quaye, Naa Ashorkor, Salinko, Abeiku Sagoe, Edinam Atatsi, Fred Amugi, Nii Saka Brown, Amankwah Ampofo, among others.
