A New Office Set Up To Deal With The Safety of Journalists In Ghana

Ghana’s Information Minister, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah commissioning the office

The government of Ghana has commissioned an office for the Coordinated Mechanism on the safety of Journalists in Ghana.

The office which is operated by the National Media Commission (NMC) was opened by Ghana’s Minister of Information, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah in celebration of the 2021 World Press Freedom on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Officially, this outfit is from now on an office for journalists to file complaints about attacks on them and furthermore, for their safety.

Ghana’s cabinet endorsed the framework for the safety of Journalists in 2020 after the Ministry of Information presented an update with its impact.
