A Plus Has Different Directions Now. Retires From Music

Kwame Asare Obeng, famously referred to in showbiz as A Plus, has said that he in no way wants to do music. He said, he now has new interests and directions. He made this known to Joy FM’s Kwame Dadzie in an interview.

The Freedom Of Speech‘ hit maker proceeded with that he’s done with music.

“At this point I call myself an emotional musician. It depends on what happens. Maybe something will come up.”

He made these remarks at a meeting held by Ghana’s Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare for the creative industry on October 24, 2023 at the Police Headquarters in Accra.

‘The People’s Man’ as his known also indicated that, he is now studying Law to understand things better so he could go with informed decisions.

The musician turned-politician added that, he had interest in grasping the Law, particularly being that person who is extremely vocal. Thus he would rather not be making statements that he doesn’t have the foggiest idea.

Honestly, we have made so many mistakes because of our limited understanding of the law, and once you get in there you understand why certain things happen in a certain way,” he explained.

Kwame A Plus shot into the spotlight with tunes themed on political editorial.

He has these hit songs in his ‘music bag’, and they include:‘Yeeka’, ‘Aben Be Bom’, ‘Letter to West’, ‘Freedom of Speech’, ‘Agye Gon’, ‘Mansa’, ‘Two Paddies’, ‘Mirror’, among others.

For the time being, he has announced his expectation to contest the Gomoa Central Parliamentary seat in 2024.

A Plus, a former member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), dropped out with the party a couple of years ago and formed his movement The People’s Project (TPP), a non-partisan group established to seek the interests of the citizenry.
