
Thomas Ampem Nyarko, the deputy minister of finance, has made the clearest statement that the government will give the completion of the University of Engineering and Agricultural Science in Bunso, Eastern Region, first priority.
Speaking to H.E. Kyongsig Park, the Korean Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. Nyarko acknowledged the economic difficulties the nation has faced recently but emphasized the government’s resolve to improve the situation through ambitious policy initiatives included in the national budget.
He thanked the Korean government for its ongoing assistance and collaboration, especially in the fields of agriculture and education.
The university project is still a top priority, the Deputy Minister said, despite the government’s resource limitations and inability to finish all existing projects.
“We recognise the importance of this institution to our national development agenda, and even though we are in a tight space, government will do all it can to ensure its completion,” Mr. Nyarko assured.
In response, the Korean Ambassador reiterated his nation’s dedication to aiding Ghana’s agricultural and educational projects.
Ambassador Park emphasized that human capital investment was a major factor in Korea’s own success and expressed optimism that Ghana would do the same.

Additionally, he emphasized current partnerships in updating irrigation systems and conveyed hope that unpaid debts would be settled quickly to pave the way for the way for deeper cooperation.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Ghana and Korea, with both parties pledging to work closely in areas of mutual interest.
