Abronye Can Never Be An NPP Chairman In Accra

In an April 2025 interview with Angel FM’s morning show, Tema West NPP Chairman Kwasi Poku voiced harsh criticism of Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC.

Poku said, Abronye is the “real definition of ‘arrogance’ of power” and that he would never be able to take over as the Greater Accra Region’s NPP chairman if given the chance.

Kwasi Poku went on to say that “this village Chairman” cannot be awarded a high position in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) considering the manner Abronye conducts himself disrespectfully and with impunity.

“Look at how he got into a fight with former MP Kennedy Agyapong in Sunyani, during the party’s ‘Thank You Tour’. The NPP will never give a crucial position to a man with this demeanor and disregard. Almost every big man in this country has been insulted by him”.

Internal conflicts within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), specifically with regard to leadership positions and regional sway, are reflected in this statement. As the NPP’s Bono Regional Chairman, Abronye DC has been a divisive figure inside the organization.

According to Poku’s comments, there is strong opposition to Abronye’s capacity to govern the Greater Accra Region.
