
Absa Group has announced the appointment of Mrs Frances Adu – Mante as Board Chair of Absa Bank Ghana subsequent to getting the fundamental regulatory endorsements.
Mrs Adu-Mante, who has served on the Board since September 2017, succeeds Mr. Charles Alexander Cofie, who finished his period as Board Chairman late last year (31 December 2020).
The Deputy Group CEO of Absa Group Limited and Chief Executive: Absa Regional Operations, Peter Matlare, was exceptionally pleased at the appointment of Mrs Adu-Mante.
According to him, he is delighted to confirm Mrs Adu-Mante’s appointment as Board Chair of Absa Bank Ghana, on the account that, Mrs Adu-Mante’s strategic leadership and seasoned knowledge of the banking sector stands Absa in good stead as they continue to pursue their ambition and goal to continue to be a leading and trusted African financial services company.
Peter Matlare further expressed that, he is confident that Adu-Mante’s leadership will strengthen the bank’s resolve to deliver continued value to their customers and shareholders.
Mrs Adu-Mante is a smart bankr, Legal Practitioner and Business Executive with (42) years of experience in Law, Banking and Finance. She is presently the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the University of Ghana Business School Endowment Fund, a member of the Governing Council of the Presbyterian University College of Ghana and a Consultant at ROFAM Consultancy Services, a Legal and Human Resource Management Consultancy.

Adu-Mante has additionally held various senior positions in the financial area having recently worked with the Ecobank Group for a very long time and held numerous portfolios within the Ecobank Group including: Group Coordinator Microfinance and Managing Director/CEO EB-ACCION Savings and Loans Company Limited.
She was also the Executive Director – Retail Banking, Director and Head – Consumer Banking, Company Secretary/Head-Legal, Regulatory and Compliance with extra duty at different occasions for General Administration and Credit Administration.
With such solid profile, Mrs Adu-Mante accompanies an abundance of aptitude in the monetary administration sector and is relied upon to give strongboard authority as the bank grows and change their business to more readily serve their customers and extend their role as a fundamentally significant bank which has upheld Ghana’s economic growth for as long as 104 years.
Mrs Adu-Mante holds an EMBA (Finance) from the University of Ghana Business School, a Bachelor of Law Degree from a similar college and a Professional Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana Law School.
Also, she holds a Certificate of Completion of Program in United States Law and Legal Institutions from the University of Wisconsin, USA. She is additionally an alumna of INSEAD Executive Program.
