The President of CAF Dr. Patrice Motsepe held an exceptionally successful meeting with the President of the Republic of Cameroon, His Excellency Mr. Paul Biya in Yaoundé, Cameroon on Tuesday, 21 December 2021.
During the gathering, Dr Motsepe stressed the significance of the coordinated effort between the Government of Cameroon, CAF and other partners in carrying out Covid-19 global prescribed practices at all the stadia, training pitches, hotels and every one of the spaces where the players, match officials, observers and guests will be during the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021.
This move is by all guidelines, vital , particularly in this time of the Omicron variant.
A mind boggling progress has been made in the course of recent months in Cameroon with the development of stadia infrastructure, training pitches and other offices for the hosting of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021.
A couple of days ago, an arrangement was finished up between the Government of Cameroon, FECAFOOT and CAF as far as which:
Supporters may only enter stadiums to attend the 52 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations matches in Cameroon if they are fully vaccinated and are able to show a negative PCR test result that is no older than 72 hours or a negative antigen test result not older than 24 hours.
The competent health authorities will take all necessary action to facilitate vaccination and the performance of screening tests at all competition sites in Cameroon.
With a view to ensure fairness and neutrality as well as trust on all sides, CAF will use a globally respected and independent testing organisation, UNILAB to test the national team players and their delegations.
CAF is proceeding together with its partners and other stakeholders in the preparations of a successful hosting of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 starting on 09 January 2022.
