The senior national team, the Black Stars Of Ghana on Thursday night beat their Sudanese partners 2-0 at the Cape Coast Sports stadium in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers being played around the continent.
The black stars dominated the game in the initial 20 minutes of the game but the Sudanese were similarly phenomenal in the game with a type of clairvoyant plays, yet couldn’t go past the defense of the Ghana team.
Ghana’s opponents got several clear opportunities in front of goal in both the first and second half but wasted them. Ghana went up in the 18th minute as the captain of the side Dede Ayew curled in a free kick from the edge of the D, with the goalkeeper left stranded, after the team had an infringement right perfectly at the rear of the 18-box.
The Sudanese who were very aggressive to even out, did everything they can to come on level standing but were denied by the goalkeeper Richard Ofori and his defenders.
With the incorporation of Baba Abdul Rahman, Jordan Ayew, John Boye, and Afriyie Acquah into the new yield of players, the Black stars were exceptional on the field with the captain Dede Ayew capturing everyone’s attention, and scoring two indispensable and dazzling goals in the first and second half respectively.
On the stroke of half-time Ghana and Ayew had a second goal ruled out out when he was ruled to have committed a foul as he rose to head the ball into the net.
Ayew eventually got his second with nine minutes left to play as he raced down the right wing before cutting inside and beating two players before lashing the ball just inside the post from the edge of the area.
This was Dede Ayew’s 91st appearance for the Black stars, and he phenomenally celebrated with his great play as well as his two lovely goals.
The Ghanaian team played well overall, even without the fans at the arena. And players like Tariq Fosu, Ekuban, Richard Ofori, Jordan Ayew, Afriyie Acquah, Baba Rahman, John Boye and the rest of the players were cognizant and played well indeed.
The two teams meet again in Khartoum on Tuesday -17th November, 2020
