Africa’s New MD For Global Citizen Is Chuks-Adizue

lfeoma Chuks-Adizue has been appointed to the newly created position of Managing Director, Africa, according to Global Citizen.

Chuks-Adizue will concentrate on Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience, a long-term, extensive endeavor to establish the first-ever international music touring circuit throughout Africa, promoting entrepreneurship, job creation, and economic investment in each host nation.

One of the top international advocacy groups in the world, Global Citizen is dedicated to eradicating extreme poverty.

Ifeoma will lead the organization’s operations in Africa, directing the execution of the business’s plan throughout the continent, including the relaunch of Move Afrika in the coming year, from Global Citizen’s office in Lagos, Nigeria.

Ifeoma’s duties will include managing Global Citizen’s Africa-based teams and operations throughout the continent, as well as important partnerships spanning business development, marketing, broadcasting, and event production.

Ifeoma will collaborate closely with Global Citizen’s executive leadership in New York City in this newly created role, and she will be crucial in fostering connections with partners in the private sector and the philanthropic community.

“Global Citizen’s mission is perfectly aligned with her extensive leadership experience and her passion for advocating for women and girls throughout Africa,” said Liza Henshaw, president of the company.

For many years to come, her extensive networks of contacts in a variety of industries will be crucial to furthering GC’s work throughout Africa.

Ifeoma contributes twenty years of experience in media, business development, sales, and brand management throughout Africa to Global Citizen.

She most recently worked for Chemical and Allied Products PLC (CAP PLC) as Executive Director Commercial, where she oversaw a team that increased the company’s revenue by more than three times since 2021.

Ifeoma had previously held important leadership positions at Cadbury Nigeria and Procter & Gamble Nigeria, where she helped propel both businesses’ expansion.

Ifeoma is a fervent advocate of women and girls. She is the creator of the online platform the ‘Uncommon Woman Movement’, which supports career women in achieving greater impact and fulfillment, and the author of two books, The Uncommon Woman and Made for MORE.

Additionally, she is a Non-Executive Director on the board of FINCA Microfinance Bank Nigeria, where she focuses on financial inclusion for the world’s most vulnerable individuals and economic growth.

The Impact Of Women Entrepreneurs In The World

Ifeoma graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Jos in Nigeria. She has won several awards, such as the Global Women Economic Forum’s Exceptional Leader of Excellence Award.

Global Citizen and pgLang, in collaboration with the Rwanda Development Board, organized the first Move Afrika event, Move Afrika: Rwanda, which took place in Kigali in December 2023 and featured Grammy Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Kendrick Lamar as the main performer.

Zuchu, Bruce Melodie, DJ TOXXYK, Sherrie Silver, Ariel Wayz, Kivumbi King, and Bruce The 1st were among the performers at the show, which was widely hailed as the most successful live music event ever held in Rwanda.
