Media personality Okatakyie Afrifa Mensah has waded into the ongoing controversy surrounding the feud between the wives of legendary Ghanaian musician Daddy Lumba ahead of his grand funeral.
Writing on his Facebook page, Afrifa Mensah questioned why many Ghanaians are acting surprised about the revelation that the late musician had multiple wives.
“Since when did polygamy become an unheard-of thing in our society?” he asked, noting that polygamy has long been part of Ghanaian culture and traditions”.
“Suatra ne ns3mhunu nti, mo nni ahot0”.
“At this point, none of the women is fighting because of Lumba’s love.
Their sole interest here is properties.”
“He was polygamous, he managed his home well and kept his home from public noise”.
“How is that his fault if the women have decided to publicly disgrace themselves in an attempt to cultivate public sympathy for a larger share of properties after his demise?
“Some of you making the most noise here are usually the ones with most to hide. Most of you are either born out of wedlock or have your husbands, fathers and brothers who have done worse”.
“Leave the man to rest if the women have chosen to cult public sympathy”.
“Single marriages kankan bebree koraa mo nhunu so. Ahiafo0 mma ne opinions about how others should or could have lived their lives. Mtcheewww”.

Okatakyie further argued that, while modern lifestyles have shifted public perceptions, having more than one wife is not new or scandalous, especially among influential figures in Ghana’s history.
He urged the public to focus on celebrating Daddy Lumba’s musical legacy rather than dwelling on family disputes.
The feud between Daddy Lumba’s wives has dominated discussions in recent days as preparations continue for his highly anticipated funeral.
