Afua Asantewaa Should Retract Her Remarks About Bawumia Now— Salam

Afua Asantewaa and Salam Mustapha

Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), accused Afua Asantewaa of making fun of former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia in her interview on Accra FM. He was speaking on “Entertainment Hall” on Adom FM, on Saturday March 22.

The accounts that are currently accessible center on a disagreement between Mustapha and Asantewaa over funding for her effort at a sing-a-thon two years ago.

Mustapha said Dr. Bawumia donated GH¢20,000, food, and beverages to support Asantewaa’s first effort at a sing-a-thon in Accra. According to Mustapha, he personally brought these items to Asantewaa’s team, which included her brother, father, and husband.

However, Asantewaa contests this account. She claimed in an appearance on Accra FM that, apart from giving her medication for a sore throat, Dr. Bawumia did not provide her with any financial assistance.

The two have publicly exchanged opinions as a result of this issue; Mustapha has called Asantewaa ungrateful and dishonest, while Asantewaa insists she did not get the said financial support.

Salam said, they have long anticipated Asantewaa to retract and express regret to the former president for those comments. According to the National Youth Organizer, some people might even think he is the one who squandered the money.

“I have been so fortunate that I can even afford to dash GH¢20,000 to Afua Asantewaa,” the national organizer stated. Why would anyone consider this, then?

Salam Mustapha claims that he still stands by his statement that he sent the money to her own family personally, thus Asantewaa ought to ask them since the proof is available.

“All she should do is come out and take back her words. I can not lie about her because she is a younger sister,” he remarked.
