Yofi Grant, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre

The Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) Program was recently held in Accra— a gathering put together by AGRA.

Young farmers, industry professionals, and key stakeholders came together at the event to discuss novel approaches to agriculture and empower the next generation of farmers.

Yofi Grant, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), stated in his speech at the event that the opportunities to achieve agricultural sufficiency on the continent are limitless and awaiting exploration.

Mr. Grant talked to the young leaders about things like the country’s strategic location, which makes it easier for investors to get to regional markets, its political stability, its effective judicial systems, and its relatively attractive investment and business environment.

He also urged young people to look into available opportunities because he thinks they are “best inspired, best positioned, and best enabled” to help Ghana and Africa advance.

About AGRA:

An African-led organization known as Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) aims to scale agricultural innovations that assist smallholder farmers in achieving improved livelihoods, increased incomes, and food security.

AfDB Calls For Increased Private Sector Involvement In Climate Finance

The organization understand that African farmers need uniquely African solutions to the environmental and agricultural challenges they face, enabling them to sustainably boost production and gain access to rapidly growing agricultural markets.

The goal of AGRA is to transform the lives of smallholder farmers from a lonely struggle for survival into thriving businesses.

They have collaborated with partners, governments, non-governmental organizations, businesses in the private sector, and others since 2006; to provide indigenous African agricultural enterprises and smallholder farmers with a set of tried-and-true solutions.

In addition, they prioritize smallholder farmers because they are aware that no country has achieved middle income without undergoing agricultural transformation.
