Officials of Namibia’s national transporter Air Namibia has chosen to suspend all operations, dropping the entirety of its flights grounding its aircraft with immediate effect.
The aircraft has in this manner asked all clients to drop their reservations and solicitation for discounts. The decision by the national airline has left in excess of 600 workers jobless.
As indicated by reports, the decision came from the country’s bureau to petition for willful liquidation.
In the interim, workers who have lost their jobs will get a fundamental compensation for the next 12 months but won’t get any benefits.
Air Namibia has been having operational issues – the most recent being a week ago’s abdication of board members who blamed the government for impedance.
The airline had been having financial and safety problems, with the knock-on effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the travel industry seeming to be the final death knockout.
