Afro-dancehall artist Akiyana has spoken about the severity of depression and how she dealt with it when she first experienced it.
Narrating her experience with Noella Kharyne Yalley on Hitz FM, the singer delved into the episode proper.
She revealed that, everyone and how they handle it, but she decided to be silent, so she could fight the low morale herself.
“I go quiet on everyone. Because no one can help me at that moment. All I want to do is be alone. I felt as though no one could help me. I had to do it myself. With depression, one day, you’ll just wake up and start to cry; You’re not happy. You get irritated by the smallest things. You just do not wish to talk to anyone.”
Akiyana revealed in the interview that, if you talk to the right people, everything will be fine. “But how can you tell if you’re talking to the right person?”
“It’s interesting that when you tell people about your problems, they seem like: but everyone else is going through the same thing. They don’t have the foggiest idea about the state at which yours is. They just lump you in with everyone. This is how suicides are committed. Because they may not be aware of the severity of your depression, “she ended.
