Selling her personal car to promote her songs was a tough decision but that was the option. For a very long time, Ghanaian-Norwegian singer Akuvi has been in the music business doing what she cherishes most- – that is, singing for the purpose of entertaining people all over the world.
Akuvi, who is the cousin of the well-known fashion designer Elikem Kumordzie the Tailor, has over the years been on the lips of Norwegians, but she is barely known in her home country Ghana. That being said, she chose to visit Ghana to unveil herself and also, to do a massive promotion of her most recent release ‘Agoo‘.
Akuvi is now in Ghana on a media tour; and it’s astonishing the way in which people are already loving her melodies. Interestingly, numerous people all over the world believe that Akuvi sounds like Grammy award winning singer Rihanna.
Others also think she sounds like Ariana Grande and some groups also deduce her voice seems like other top global artists they are aware of. In fact, there are diverse views.
In all of these views, Akuvi admitted in a recent Ghanaian interview that when she speaks, some fans prefer to compare her to Rihanna over other artists. Anyway, that’s just a side note.
Back in Norway, Akuvi Kumordzie has performed on large stages including the Melodi Grand Prix Show- – the semifinals stage, where she was a participant in 2020. She gave an outstanding stage performance that enthralled the thousands of fans in attendance.
Akuvi always gets people’s attention when she’s in front of an audience and has also unquestionably done Covers of songs of some artists in Africa including Oma Lay, Tems, WizKid, and some more. She also has a beautiful song with E.L (Ghana’s one-time Artists of the Year).
Akuvi also performed at a concert that the multi-award-winning Ghanaian singer Efya hosted a few years ago.
Akuvi’s powerful vocals have attracted a lot of fans to her music, especially the “Som Du er” track which is one of their favorite songs. The tune has some kind of ‘power’ that accompanies a mind boggling sounds and instrumentation combined with an ear-satisfying vocals by the artist.
Akuvi released an album back in 2019. She has since churned out beautiful tunes up until this time. Her songs are labeled as international productions because of the unique sound appended to them.
Akuvi is the author of numerous songs; and among them are: In My Feelings, Som Du er’ , and so forth. However, “Agoo” is currently available on all digital stores. Agoo‘ is her most recent tune, and you need to check it out!
