On September 1, 2024, Alexander Pollich will take over as President and CEO of Porsche China, Hong Kong, and Macao from his current position in Shanghai.
Pollich has held a number of management positions at Porsche over the course of more than 23 years. As Porsche Deutschland GmbH’s Chairman of the Executive Board since 2018, Pollich will be in charge of the significant Chinese sales market as a sales expert with international experience.
Simultaneously, his predecessor in China, Michael Kirsch, will be moving to one more place of responsibility inside the Group.
Pollich, 57, was successful in growing Porsche’s business in Canada and the UK, where he was CEO, in addition to Porsche’s home market in Germany.
Prior to establishing the brand’s global sales network growth, the business administration (BA) and economics graduate worked in the Porsche strategy department.
“We are delighted to have secured Alexander Pollich – a proven and experienced sales professional – for the Chinese market, which is particularly challenging at this time. He will further strengthen the attractiveness of the Porsche brand in China,” says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing.
Implementing a value-oriented and brand-appropriate growth strategy for the Chinese market will be one of Pollich’s primary responsibilities, along with safeguarding the operating Porsche business.

Apart from this, his attention will be on a considerably more concentrated coordinated effort with the local dealer partners as well as the further streamlining of the inward processes and structures.
The German market will be temporarily managed by Karsten Sohns, Porsche Deutschland GmbH’s CFO since 2008, and Thomas Illner, Porsche Deutschland GmbH’s COO, until a replacement for Pollich is chosen.
