American Idol Season 23: Carrie Underwood Prepping Up For The Big Show

Carrie Underwood is all set to serve as a judge on the upcoming season of American Idol. Katy Perry will be replaced by the country singer, who left after seven seasons.

The winner of the singing reality show in 2005 spoke candidly about her experience taking over from Perry in a recent interview with the media.

She discussed what viewers could anticipate from her and how strict or lenient she would be with the singers on stage.

Carrie Underwood will be joined by the old judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. In anticipation of the big show, this is what she said:

“I feel like I’ve been so blessed to obviously be so rooted in country music, but I’ve been able to be a part of many other genres or music as well.” She further stated, “I mean, I’ve got a song with Papa Roach right now. It’s a lot of fun.”

As indicated by Underwood, people will enter the show with a fantasy, and she would have no desire to cut that off.

“And I think that’s the whole point, ’cause people are coming in and, you know, it’s dreams. You’re a part of somebody’s story from that moment on.” Underwood added, “I think it’s important to be honest, but it’s also very important to be kind, so hopefully I can marry all of those together and be a good judge.”

The country singer is the first person to win the American Idol and join the panel of judges nearly a decade later.
