Andre Ayew’s Experience Needed For Ghana At The World Cup

Mickey Charles and Andre Dede Ayew

Charles Kwadwo Ntim, also known as Mickey Charles, is the founder and president of Techiman City Football Club. He is urging Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, to include Andre Dede Ayew in Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup roster.

In a recent interview, Mickey Charles stressed how important Ayew’s leadership skills and experience will be for Ghana in the international competition. Younger players add flair and excitement, but an experienced captain like Ayew can help balance the team and keep discipline on and off the field, he said.

“Experience counts a lot in tournaments like the World Cup. Dede Ayew has been there, and his presence alone can motivate the younger ones,” he said. “Even if he doesn’t start every game, his leadership in the dressing room is invaluable.”

“It will be befitting to send Andre Ayew to the World Cup. Ghana must not make the continuous mistake of forcefully retiring players who have served the badge with honour and dignity”.

“Andre is only 35 and still wields the energy and leadership to guide this team. He doesn’t necessarily have to start games but can play a crucial role when his leadership is needed both on and off the pitch”.

“I strongly recommend that Coach Otto Addo include our legend in his squad, who is still active, to at least thank him for his immense service to our dear nation.”

Dede Ayew is one of the most committed players in Ghana’s recent football history, and Mickey Charles is urging Ghanaians to recognize the contributions he has made to the national team over the years.

In the upcoming months, the Black Stars are anticipated to start getting ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and Otto Addo will have to make difficult choices regarding his final team.
