Applications Are Now Being Accepted For Grants For Female Entrepreneurs In The Energy Sector

With assistance from the International Research Development Center (IRDC), the ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE) has issued a call for the Women of Clean Energy in West Africa (WOCEWA) grants for female energy entrepreneurs.

This grant will offer funding to advance the implementation of projects that simultaneously advance gender equality and enhance energy access in the ECOWAS region, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Applications are being accepted from female entrepreneurs who want to distribute clean energy solutions and develop renewable energy technologies in West Africa.

Concept Innovation, Development Impact, and Business Model & Financial Sustainability will be the three criteria used to evaluate the projects.

For WOCEWA grants, each application must show a definite need and additionality.
In light of the aforementioned, ECREEE encourages qualified female entrepreneurs in the energy sector to apply in compliance with the Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.

The application must be submitted using the official form found at www.ecreee.org in order to be eligible for consideration. This began operating on December 20, 2024.

When submitting the proposals, applicants are not allowed to copy any of the aforementioned email addresses.

Contract Negotiations:

Following review, ECREEE may open a new application for February 20, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. UTC-1, or request an updated application.

There will be no briefing sessions held. Only enquiries sent to: sbangoura@ecowas.int with copy Applications must be submitted electronically in the prescribed format.

All applications will be regarded as valid for a period of 12 months from the closing date.
The successful applicant/s will be required to enter into a written Grant Facility Agreement.

On December 20, 2024, the RFP went live, and it will end on February 20, 2025.
