Argentina’s Squad For Friendlies Ahead Of This Year’s Copa América

Lionel Messi of Inter Miami will lead Argentina’s 29-man roster for upcoming friendlies prior to this year’s Copa América Tournament. Argentina has submitted their final team for these games.

Argentina will play friendlies against Ecuador on June 9, 2024 at Chicago’s Soldier Field and Guatemala five days after the fact at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland, ahead of defending their Copa América title.

Coach Lionel Scaloni has released his team for the friendlies which include 22 of the 26 players for the 2022 World Cup-winning team, including Messi and Benfica’s Ángel Di María.

Missing from this team are Paulo Dybala (AS Roma), Juan Foyth (Villarreal) and Thiago Almada (Atlanta United FC).

All teams are expected to present their final squad for Copa América by June 15, three days after the fact than at first required. The tournament’s roster size will now be limited to a maximum of 26 players per team, as confirmed by CONMEBOL last week.
