Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has taken a two-week break from all official duties.

On Monday, October 14, 2024, during a meeting at the Manhyia Palace, this was made known to the Asanteman Council.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will use the break to set out traveling outside the country, as revealed by Daasebre Nana Osei Bonsu II and the rest of the Council members.

“Well, for your information, I am now embarking on the trip. I will be out for two weeks”, Asantehene said to his elders.

According to custom, when the King is absent, Mamponghene takes charge of Asanteman, while Bantamahene takes charge of the Kumasi Traditional Council.

His Highness left the country on Wednesday, October 16 and this will be the situation in Asanteman and Kumasi as Otumfuo enjoys this merited reprieve following a tedious yet exciting year.
