
Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has been drafted as a Paul Harris Fellow, a lofty acknowledgment for an individual’s remarkable commitment to society and humankind.
The King of Asante was honored during the maiden District Conference of Rotary Club International District 9104 in Kumasi hosted at the Golden Bean Hotel on Friday, April 12, 2024.
The esteemed acknowledgment, named after the founder behind the Rotary Club International, recognizes people who have made critical contributions to the Rotary community both locally and universally exemplifying Rotary’s motto of service.
In light of this, the group affirms, His Highness has exhibited fantastic contributions in the beyond 25 years of his rule on the Golden Stool.
Presenting to him the honor was the Governor of Rotary District 9104, Mr David Osei Amankwaa Junior who described the Monarch as a “champion of humanity and a repository of wisdom”.
“Today we bestow upon him the Paul Harrison recognition in acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution and his unwavering commitment to service…He has been a visionary leader steering affairs of the Asante Kingdom towards progress and prosperity.”
His Highness has made critical commitments in education and health, particularly for the oppressed in the public eye.
“His reign has been marked by a steadfast commitment to the welfare of his people, promoting education, health care and economic development. His Majesty has been a staunch advocate for education recognizing it as the cornerstone of societal advancement under his leadership and under his leadership, Asante Kingdom has witnessed significant investment in education, ensuring that the youth have access to quality learning opportunities and empowering helpless individuals to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society”.

Present at the ceremony were the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare, Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah, the General Commanding Officer of the Central Command, Brig Gen Michael Opoku, and Mr. Sam Okudzeto.
