Plans to hold a mining conference in the middle of this year have been announced by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The aforementioned conference’s main objective is to promote ethical mining practices in Ghana.
This information was revealed by the King of Ashanti during a meeting with Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, on Friday, February 14, 2025.
His Majesty claims that the World Bank and other international organizations are collaborating to organize the conference.
The Palace said that everything had been planned and that the event would take place in June 2025.

• Restoring ecosystems through land rehabilitation

• Providing fair wages, safe working conditions, and labor rights protection
• Contributing to local development through education, healthcare, and infrastructure
• Compliance with national and international mining regulations
Transparency in operations and revenue reporting
• Anti-corruption policies and responsible supply chain practices
• Using technology to reduce environmental footprints (e.g., water recycling, renewable energy)
