Asantehene’s Stunning Commemorative Stamp To Be Unveiled On May 4

President Akufo-Addo & The Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

President Akufo-Addo will officially unveil an extraordinary dedicatory stamp on May 4, 2024, to pay tribute to the 25th anniversary of the Asante King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

This event will happen in Kumasi at the Manhyia Castle in the Ashanti region.

Ghana Post in a joint effort with the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation made the stamp to honour the Asantehene’s legacy and significant contributions to national development, peace, and cultural preservation

The event is supposed to draw in various top dignitaries, including government officials, traditional leaders, and Ghanaians to observe this notable moment.

On Thursday May 2, a designation from Ghana Post led by Mrs. Ursula Owusu Ekuful, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, met with President Akufo-Addo in a conversation.

The Managing Director of Ghana Post, Mr. Bice Osei Kuffour, the Chairman of the Board, Mr. George Afedzi Hayford, and board members Mr. Fred Akuffo Gyimah and Mr. Yiadom Boakye Kesse were all part of the delegation.

Asantehene Inducted Into The Rotary Club As Paul Harris Fellow

The meeting revolved around finalizing the details of the ceremony and others including enhancing the role of Ghana Post in national development.

The Otumfuo stamp aims to capture the essence of Ghanaian identity as a symbol of unity and pride.

During a press conference held at the Ministry’s headquarters, Mrs. Owusu Ekuful stated,

“The unveiling of the Otumfour commemorative stamp is not just a celebration of His Majesty’s 25 years on the Golden Stool but also a reflection of our rich heritage and the significant strides we have made as a country under his moral and progressive leadership,”
