When the surprise team showed up at his house to show how well he was doing, Agya Koo Nimo, was seen in a wheelchair, reading a book.

The video shows him welcoming guests with a comforting smile, emanating the mystique that has charmed him to ages of music lovers.

While maintaining his interest in music, Agya Koo Nimo held a variety of roles related to science and medicine. Koo Nimo’s creation of the ‘Addadam Agofomma ensemble’ in 1957, when Ghana became an independent nation from the former British colony of the Gold Coast, was his first national success.

Sung in the Twi language, many of his songs feature folktales. The apentemma and donno, the metal castanet, the prempensua (rhumba box), the ntorwa (hollow gourd rattle with beads or seeds woven around it on a net), and the nnawuta (consisting of two iron bells that provide the key rhythmic pattern) or dawuro (banana-shaped bell) are the traditional West African instruments that make up the Ashanti palm wine ensemble.

In fact, Agya Koo Nimo has a long musical career and history.
