Aitana Bonmatí is named the best women’s player of the year, and Lamine Yamal and Vicky López receive the best young player awards.
The Italian sports newspaper “Tuttosport” announced the Golden Boy awards on Wednesday November 27, with FC Barcelona emerging as the clear winner.
At the ceremony in Turin on December 16, Lamine Yamal, Vicky López, and Aitana Bonmatí will all be picking up prizes.
Jude Bellingham’s crown is passed down to Lamine Yamal, who won the Golden Boy award for best male football player under 23.
In addition to winning the Kopa Trophy a few weeks ago, the 17-year-old becomes the club’s fourth recipient of the honor, following in the footsteps of Leo Messi (2005), Pedri (2021), and Gavi (2022).
Additionally, a Barça player was named a Golden Girl award winner for the first time since the award’s inception in 2018. This year’s winner, Vicky López, 18, succeeds Real Madrid’s Linda Caicedo, who received recognition a year ago.
In addition to López, the ‘Best Italian Golden Girl’ award went to Giulia Dragoni, a player for Barça’s women’s team who is currently on loan at AS Roma.
