Attorney General Dr. Dominic Akuritinga Ayine texted host Paul Adom-Otchere during the live broadcast of “Good Evening Ghana” on May 1, 2025.
Dr. Ayine’s worries regarding the show is coverage of a story involving businessman Dr. Sledge and MP and political activist A Plus were conveyed in the message. According to Dr. Dominic Ayine, the piece may have damaged reputations and misrepresented facts.
Adom-Otchere responded by reading the message out loud on television and directly addressing the Attorney General’s concerns.
It read:
“Paul, you’re putting a slant on the story to give an impression that I am trying to gag A Plus through Dr. Sledge. I take an exception to that. Please go back and read my press conference statement. I am disappointed in you but not surprised. I have more integrity than the person you were working with on the law house contract”
The conversation brought to light conflicts between political officials and media narratives, particularly when it comes to delicate subjects.
