Baba Sadiq Is The Chosen Candidate Of Okaikwei Central

Media and entertainment entrepreneur, Abdullai Abu Sadiq most often known as Baba Sadiq is the new parliamentary competitor of Ghana’s opposition political party, National Democratic Congress following the party’s primary elections held on Saturday, May 13, 2023.

According to the official results that were released by the Electoral Commission (EC), the former CEO of 3Music CEO won the elections for the Okaikwei Central constituency. He received 682 votes, while his closest competitor, Nadine Issah Salifu, received 267 votes.

Fred Nii Tetteh and Judge Hasford Quartey, the other two candidates, had 118 and 94, respectively.

Baba Sadiq has been very active in the affairs of the NDC party for at least four years. One of his most notable contributions was helping to write the NDC’s creative arts manifesto in time for the 2020 elections.

Additionally, he was selected to address issues pertaining to the arts in the NDC’s manifesto.

Before joining the NDC, the co-founder of 3Media Networks and the Wildaland Festival worked for several years in the media and music industries.

In the wake of winning the recent elections, Baba Sadiq is presently set to face fierce opposition against the administering New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Patrick Yaw Boamah, who’s the current Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central.
