This summer, Marcus Rashford is expected to depart from Manchester United, his childhood team.
Barcelona has reportedly met with the player’s team as the forward considers leaving Manchester United in the summer.
The 27-year-old will be available for £40 million and will completely break off his ties to his boyhood club after joining Aston Villa on loan in January.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Deco, Barcelona’s sports director, met with Rashford’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, on Wednesday at a hotel in the Catalan city.
Rashford is under contract at Old Trafford until 2028 and receives £315,000 a week from United.
But when he had a falling out with Ruben Amorim, the club is eager to let him go.
Last week, Deco, the sporting director for Barcelona, acknowledged that he was considering signing Rashford.
Rashford eventually earned a comeback to the national squad after scoring four goals and dishing out five assists in 17 appearances while on loan at Aston Villa.
However, it appears more and more doubtful that they will stay at Villa Park after Unai Emery’s team lost to United 2-0 on the last day, missing out on Champions League qualification.
According to rumors, Rashford would love to play for a team in the Champions League, and Barcelona is such club. During the January transfer window, the Catalans made a move for the England forward, but the deal fell through.
He is now one of four attacking targets being considered by bosses at the Nou Camp.

Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is believed to be their number one target, but is viewed as a very expensive option. Deco last week admitted the Spanish giants are interested in the Premier League pair.
‘We like Luis [Diaz], we like [Marcus] Rashford, and we like other players,’ he said.
Meanwhile, Barcelona have also tied Hansi Flick down with a new contract until 2027 after a succesful season which saw them claim the LaLiga and Copa del Rey titles.
