Renowned Nigerian comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, stagely known as Basketmouth, has scrutinized the Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria, Abdulrasheed Bawa over the low pace of conviction for politically exposed people in the country.
This scrutiny comes after the two recent protest by the youth in Warri area of Delta State in Nigeria and that of Ibadan over unjustifiable arrest and coercion by the anti-graft agency with next to no connections to cybercrime.
In response to the actions that went on, the EFCC chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa noticed that, the action by the youth won’t prevent his office from arresting anybody causing or promoting fraud or scam in the country.

However, Basketmouth on his Instagram story, questioned the EFCC boss for not arresting corrupt leaders who are causing economic disaster in Abuja where the agency’s head office is situated.
He said:
“Great! This is awesome news and I support it, but what about the ones that caused economic disaster: They’re walking freely in that same Abuja. Charity begins at home is all I’m saying.”
The entertainer further shared screen shots of past news where different government personnel couldn’t account for the money in their care, yet walking freely.
The first screenshot reads: “NDDC Acting MD, Pondei shuns Reps over alleged misuse of N39b.”
The second screenshot reads:
“Nigeria’s vice president says $15 billion stolen in arms procurement fraud”; and the third reads: “Nigerian snake ate millions of naira, clerk says.”
Basketmouth, nonetheless, expressed
“I suggest we build a few animal prisons, their own is too much”
