According to the Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar, Ghana’s Vice President and Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has never been charged with any corruption charges since he started working in public space.
Fatimatu Abubakar said, for the past 16 years, even before Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia came into politics, he has not been involved in any corrupt activities, and that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) even know this fact.
She added that every Ghanaian can attest that His Excellency Bawumia’s track record on corruption is outstanding and impeccable.
Madam Fatimatu did not end there, but continued:
“Dr. Bawumia’s integrity in fighting corruption is better than that of NDC Presidential candidate John Mahama”.
Fatima further added that, although there have been several corruption scandals in the country in recent years, which have been covered and investigated by the media, Dr. Bawumia is barely audible.
“Dr. Bawumia has been in the limelight and has been working hard to fight corruption for many years, but unfortunately, when some ‘people’ in Ghana realize that you have a bright future, they find ways to fabricate and falsify information about you just to tarnish your image,” Fatimatu Abubakar said in an interview on Angel FM on Tuesday, November 5.
She added that the Vice President has put in place several anti-corruption interventions, including digitalization.
Fatimatu spoke on this issue when she was questioned about Dr. Bawumia’s stance on corruption, especially when the opposition party NDC has called him a liar and corrupt.
