Xabi Alonso has reportedly made the decision to quit Bayer Leverkusen and become the new head coach of Real Madrid this summer.
Imanol Alguacil, the head coach of Alonso’s previous team Real Sociedad, is reportedly one of the contenders to succeed him, according to Sky Germany.
Alguacil, who has been Sociedad’s manager since December 2018, has already stated that he will leave the team when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
According to Relevo, the Spanish coach will meet with the management of Bayer Leverkusen to formally declare his wish to leave.
