
Beatrice Agyemang, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Media General, has received the citation and plaque she won on July 6 at the recent Africa Role Model Awards. This honors her as a female role model personality in Africa.
The 15th edition, held at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) on Saturday, saw the female executive awarded the Overall Female Africa Role Model Personality of the Year.
The citation reads:
“You broke free from the shackles pinning down women aspiring to climb higher on the corporate ladder and etched your name in Gold as the second female Group Chief Executive Officer of Media General, Ghana’s most popular privately-owned media stable.”
On Thursday, July 11, the founder of Young Professionals and Youth Coalition (YPYC) Dr Andy Osei Okrah officially presented the award to Beatrice Agyemang and complimented her for continuously inspiring numerous young professional women.
Beatrice Agyemang expressed gratitude to her team for their cooperation in enabling her to assume the necessary leadership role.
“It takes a lot of hardwork to stay at the top,” she stressed, urging young executives to develop their soft skills.
“Soft skills is everything. To be able to manage a lot of people, you need soft skills. People have asked me how I have been able to manage a lot of women, young, ambitious, beautiful, intelligent women and men, it is because we lead by example for them to know that staying relevant demands hardwork.”
Beatrice agyemang vowed to contribute her share to the legacy fund for youth education, entrepreneurship and empowerment set up by YPYC at the end of the 15th ARM Awards.
