
Ghana’s athletics pair Benjamin Azamati and Barnabas Aggerh are through to the final of the men’s 100m event at the ongoing African Games.
The two runners were part of the three members of Ghana’s team to have made the semifinal round in the wake of cruising past their separate Heats, with the other being Sarfo Ansah.
Aggerh qualified to the final after coming second in semifinal heat 1 with a time of 10.46s while Ansah, who was in the same race finished fifth.
Azamati also made it to the 100m finals after coming second in the semifinal round heat 2 in 10.41s. Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme come out on top in the race in 10.23s.
In the women’s event, Mary Boakye is anticipating to earn a podium finish after being the only Ghanaian to make it to the final.
However, Hor Halutie and Benedicta Kwartemaa failed to qualify.
The final of the men’s 100m event is on Tuesday, March 19.
