The BET Awards 2022, which was held on Sunday June 26, was an event which celebrated Black excellence in music, culture and sports at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
The ritzy night was attended by significant stars including Lizzo, Idris Elba and many more who turned up putting their best self forward for the occasion hosted by Taraji P. Henson.
Among the night’s biggest features was Lizzo’s performance on her most recent hit, “About Damn Time”. Also leaving the crowd with a unimaginable execution was Mariah Carey who joined Latto in an unexpected show.
During the red carpet, many of these geniuses turned up looking beguiling, including Lizzo who wore a shocking black outfit with a thigh-high cut. Also seen on the red carpet was actor and presenter Idris Elba who was joined by his significant other for the ceremony.
Also, Jack Harlow made heads turn on the red carpet as he donned a shirt highlighting Lil Nas X’s face since the last option was scorned from the occasion.
Showing up for the awards ceremony was Blac Chyna who posed on the red carpet in a gold outfit and was among her first red carpet appearances since losing a defamation case against Kardashians.
Among the winners for the big evening was Latto who took home the Best New Artist honour. Also, Jazmine Sullivan bagged the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist award.
The Best collaboration honour was won by Wizkid feat. Justin Bieber & Tems for the song Essence. The Best Male R&B/Pop Artist award was bagged by The Weeknd although he was not in attendance at the event.
