BET has declared that the “BET Awards” 2023 will return LIVE from Los Angeles on Sunday, June 25. During the LIVE broadcast on BET, Culture’s Biggest Night will celebrate five decades of Hip Hop.
For the 21st year in a row (CY02-CY22), “BET Awards” has been the most popular cable award show among Black adults aged 18 to 49. It has also been the most popular cable award show among all adults aged 18 to 49 for two years in a row, in 2022 and 2021.
Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming, and Music Strategy at BET, stated, “We are thrilled to be back in LA for the BET Awards 2023 and to celebrate a huge cultural milestone- the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop.”
“Hip Hop has not only influenced American culture for the past five decades, but it has also evolved into a global phenomenon and one of the most influential musical genres of our time.”

The annual show will be directed by Connie Orlando, EVP, Specials, Music Programming, and Music Strategy. Jamal Noisette, VP, Specials, Music Programming, and Music Strategy, will co-executively produce for BET.
Jesse Collins Entertainment is the production organization for the show,with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Mud also filling in as executive producers.
