Brew-Riverson Jnr’s Love For Acting Waned Down For This Reason

Quite a while back, Ghana’s screens were overwhelmed with mind blowing actors who were continuously having an impact on people, as they also engaged the viewership in Ghana. The likes of Grace Omaboe, Victor Lutterodt, Kofi Bucknor, McJordan Amartey, Grace Nortey, Solomon Sampah, Michelle Attoh, Oscar Provencal, and many others. Among these list of awesome actors was Brew-Riverson Jnr.

The latter is a veteran actor who played multi-character roles on Ghanaian TV during the 1980s and 1990s. Brew-Riverson was casted in practically every one of the fine motion pictures that won honors at the time. However versatile as he seemed to be, he played each and every other role that, indeed would have been dismissed by some other actors.

Brew-Riverson was simply extraordinary on the screen, drawing in huge number of fans in Africa. In fact, he was one of Ghana’s number one actors in the 80s through to the 90s. He did this for a very long time until 2015, when he indicated that he has no intentions of acting again as his enthusiasm has faded down.

The veteran actor no longer took up roles from film producers. Brew-Riverson who used to amaze numerous film enthusiasts with his smiles on the screens, was without doubt, lost it for acting.

He said in an interview:

I have gotten to a point in my life where my faith does not allow me to associate myself with certain storylines. Nothing pushed me out. It’s not every story I could share the message of telling, so I kind of went like let me just let it go. I got to the point where it is not every script I could do and some directors would not like that. I had limited options and the other option was to do it myself, which I was not prepared for. The other option was to fall back on teaching”

The mild-mannered actor who is currently a lecturer at the Theater Arts Department of the University of Education, Winneba, conceded that, although he has been away from the screens for a considerable length of time, he can’t help but respect some extraordinary talents in the Industry who are still in the ‘game’.

According to Brew-Riverson, he has fostered some soft-spot for some Kumawood actors, who he believes are doing well indeed. Actors like Emelia Brobbey, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Akrob3to, and a couple of them are his top choices.

On the English-speaking films, he thinks Majid Michel is doing amazingly well. Brew-Riverson additionally praised Majid Michel for his incredible talent.

To him, he is one of the talented actors Ghana has. On account of Brew-Riverson’s fine acting talent, he has received several scripts for roles, even as he has quit. However, the award winning actor turned them down despite the fact that, the reward appears to be very good. As per the veteran actor, his hands are currently tied with lecturing Theater Arts at the Department of the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana.

Brew-Riverson Jnr was last seen in Shirley Frimpong’s ‘Life And Living It’ and acted for 13 years.
