Carrie Underwood Is A Good Choice— Katy Perry

Katy Perry

As per Katy Perry, she misses her fellow American Idol judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. She does, however, support Carrie Underwood as her replacement, describing it as the ideal fit for the program.

Following her departure from the show last year, Katy stated:

“I miss them so much,” the Firework singer said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday, January 29. “I do, actually. Hi, Luke! Hi, Lionel!”

Perry disclosed in a recent interview that Richie, 75, and Bryan, 48, were “still reaching out to her all the time.”

Regarding the “Jesus Take the Wheel” singer taking her place, Perry stated:

“I think it is perfect”

Perry even told Kimmel’s audience, “It’s coming out in March, so you gotta watch!” in an attempt to promote the singing reality show even though she was no longer a part of it.

In order to concentrate on her personal pursuits, Katy Perry announced in February 2024 that she was leaving Idol after seven seasons. Meanwhile, the U.S. leg of Perry’s Lifetimes tour is set to begin in May 2025, and she has since released an album.

In early 2023, Perry received criticism from some viewers for harshly judging contestants, which sources told media outlets was just part of her role as a mentor. This news followed Perry’s announcement that she was leaving American Idol.
