In an Instagram post on December 31, 2024, Celine Dion, who had one of the most life-changing years of 2024, looked back on the previous year.
The singer expressed hope for the upcoming year and thanked her fans for their support over the previous 12 months.
“As we wrap up another year together, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks for your unwavering support,” Dion, 56, began. “Your love and energy inspire me every day. I wish you all a joyful holiday season filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished moments with loved ones,” she continued. “Here’s to endless possibilities in the coming year. Wishing you a safe holiday and a fabulous New Year!”
Dion also shared a side-profile picture of herself holding her hands in a prayer position while looking up.
For the first time since disclosing her stiff person syndrome diagnosis in 2022, Dion took the stage again in 2024. She gave her comeback performance of Edith Piaf’s iconic Hymne à l’Amour during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in July. In October, she made a live recording of the performance available.
In November 2024, Dion performed at the 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, honoring the 45-year career of the Lebanese designer. She performed her hits “The Power of Love” from 1993 and “I’m Alive” from 2002 to end the ceremony.
Dion stated in a June interview with PEOPLE that she was proud to share her health issues because she thought her story might serve as an inspiration to others.
“Today, I live one day at a time,” she expressed at the time.
