Céline Dion Premieres Her Documentary In New York

During the premiere of her new documentary, “I Am:,” Céline Dion, the Queen of Power Ballads, received a standing ovation.

I Am: Céline Dion delves into the singer’s battle with stiff-person syndrome (SPS) and will be accessible on Prime Video soon. The docu dives into her life and battles with this interesting neurological SPS problem, according to PEOPLE.

She received thunderous applause when walked up stage to talk about the movie. Her emotional response was touching, and this was the largest audience she had addressed in a number of years.

Céline began her speech by expressing gratitude to those who had helped her on her journey. She explicitly expressed gratitude toward her first care physician, Dr. Amanda Piquet, and documentary filmmaker Irene Taylor Brodsky. Her story could not have been made possible without their efforts and dedication.

Céline Dion, 56, also paid empathetic and sincere tribute to her three sons, René-Charles, 23, Nelson, 13, and Eddy, 13, who she shares with her late husband René Angélil.

“Of course, I wouldn’t be here without the daily love and support from my wonderful children,” she continued. The audience erupted in applause as she thanked each of her sons individually, saying, “Thank you, René-Charles. Thank you, Nelson. Thank you, Eddy. Thank you very much.”

Dion’s emotional connection to her children was evident as she continued,

“And thanks to you, my fans, your presence in my journey has been a gift beyond measure. Your never-ending love and support for all the issues have delivered me to this moment.”

During the narrative, Dion talked about her own experience in SPS. She jokingly compared herself to an apple as she considered her condition. The singer clarified that it was not a fabrication based on their current location in New York when she explained how she made this comparison while she was in Las Vegas.

She proceeded to consider her illustration of herself as an apple from a tree. Dion told her fans that she was worried about them and that she didn’t want them to wait in line any longer if she didn’t have any shiny apples for them.

We are not in this for the apple. She stated, “We’re here to find the truth.”
