Chappell Roan hit back at a photographer who had insulted her at the recent MTV VMAs 2024.
The singer was seen on the red carpet of the ceremony, where a photographer yelled at her.
Roan was captured on video standing her ground and yelling,
“You shut the f— up”. She then brought out her hand and warned the photographer, “Don’t. Not me, b***h,” as she composed herself and entered the awards ceremony.
Later on in an interview, Roan said that it was a lot for her since people tend to yell at artists for no apparent explanation and she doesn’t bow with that by any stretch of the imagination. She needed to holler and deny anybody the option to address her in a deigning tone.
She said:
“I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying. And I yelled back. I yelled back — you don’t get to yell at me like that.”
This incident on the red carpet comes only weeks after Roan expressed that a few fans had acted improperly.
She posted on Instagram on August 23rd explaining that after ten years where work was her entire life, it became essential to draw the lines.
