The popular Universal Pictures is going to tell a conclusive realistic biopic about the existence of Martin Luther King Jr. The studio has optioned the freedoms to adjust Jonathan Eig’s widely praised biography King: A Life. That being said, actor and comedian Chris Rock is in conclusive discussions to direct and produce this expected movie, which will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg.

The film will be produced by Amblin Partners, with Kristie Macosko Krieger filling in as producer alongside Chris Rock. King: A Life has been a big bestseller, and is nominated for the National Book Award. It has been hailed as a definitive memoir of the civil rights icon Dr. King, for its use of previously untapped sources that include newly declassified FBI information.

The book is about the bold man who constantly organized peaceful protests in the segregationist south, meanwhile wrestling with his own frailties and a central government that spooky all his means as opposed to dealing with him like the legend history demonstrates him to be.
