A lot of women are now entering politics in Ghana in recent times. As a matter of fact, the number has gone up with good representations in governance. Consistently new contestants spring up in the space, and one of these individuals is Claudia K. Lumor.
Claudia Kwarteng Lumor, the only female parliamentary hopeful in Oforikrom is hopeful her decision to enter political world will motivate more women to take up leadership roles in legislative issues.
The 43 year-old, aspiring politician is an accomplished publisher and founder of Kollage Media. Her outfit has over the years organized awards ceremonies, fashion events and more. On entering politics now, Claudia is optimistic to bring change and development to the Oforikrom voting demographic with her knowledge and aptitude.
Claudia will face four other male hopefuls in the forthcoming parliamentary primaries. She is exceptionally tipped to win the space after sitting MP Emmanuel Marfo joined the list of growing MPs in the Ashanti region who didn’t look for re-appointment.
Speaking in an interview on Asaase radio on Wednesday 17 January, Lumor said she feels extremely matured and has grown through coaching, accordingly she is hopeful she will inspire people.
“Because the more they see more women moving and shifting and the narrative shifting into that area, it will inspire a lot more women in various fields that they can do this.”
“The calling and purpose and why I’m doing this is bigger than the brand Claudia Lumor, because there are more women behind us. We are ready to serve our country, to put everything on the line, show maturity and wisdom to inspire more people,” Lumor added.
Claudia Lumor is the founder of Glitz Africa Magazine, Glitz Style Awards and Glitz Africa Foundation. The German born Ghanaian Publisher is also the Executive Producer of Glitz Africa Fashion Week Ghana and an Ambassador of UN UNFPA Ghana.
