After his death, Samsung Electronics’ only CEO will be Jun Young-hyun, who was named co-CEO only a week earlier.
Samsung is facing more competition in the technological industry, therefore Han’s passing comes at a difficult moment for the corporation.
Apple overtook Samsung as the top smartphone producer in 2024, and rival SK Hynix outperformed Samsung in providing Nvidia with AI server chips.
Over the past year, Samsung’s stock has dropped 22% as a result of these changes, while rivals have seen increases.
